The Calendar of Lights - Yah's Calendar Made Simple

Yah’s Calendar Made Simple
The Calendar of Lights

By Carroll L Page Rev. 10-26-2007 (Part is Based on a Work of Derek Davies)

Let’s Begin At The Beginning/B’reshit.......

So it should be no surprise that the calendar is found here in the book of beginnings.

B’reshit/Genesis 1:14-15 (KJV). We are told that The Creator said, "Let

there be LIGHTS in the firmament of the heaven, (1) to divide the day from the night, and let them be (2) for SIGNS, (3) and for SEASONS, (4) and for DAYS, (5) and for YEARS: and let them be for LIGHTS in the firmament of the heaven (6) TO GIVE LIGHT UPON THE EARTH"

(1) "to divide the day from the night"
(2) "for SIGNS",
(3) "and for SEASONS [Moedim - Appointments],"
(4) "and for DAYS,"
(5) "and for YEARS"
(6) "To Give Light Upon The Earth"

Now That’s a Calendar and it is all about LIGHTS.......

Genesis 1:16-18: "And Elohim made two great LIGHTS; the greater LIGHT to rule the day, and the lesser LIGHT to rule the night: he made the stars also. And Elohim set them in the firmament of the heaven TO GIVE LIGHT UPON THE EARTH, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the LIGHT from the darkness:..."

LIGHTS.......

It would be hard to overlook how many times the word LIGHT occurs in these passages, even without my emphasis. It does not just refer to light in the abstract, but "light upon the earth." The basis is given here for the calendar, and that basis is the light of the sun, and moon as OBSERVED from the earth by human beings. As we study this passage point by point, we can see how the days, months, and years are all determined on the basis of these lights.

Sun As a Calendar Marker - One of the points of time that are marked off by the movements of the sun is the spring equinox. Spring time has been almost universally accepted as the time to start the year. In the beginning Yahuah orally informed his people about the Calendar, later on he had it codified in the Torah as being in the spring time. The sun’s only point of origin for the start of the year that can be used in the spring, is the spring equinox. Remember Yah said that the year was to be determined by the sun and/or the moon. The Greater light, the sun, only marks off four distinct points within the year, Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Fall Equinox and Winter Solstice, one of these must be selected to start the year. Since the Torah clearly indicates that the year starts in the spring, the sun defined point of time called the spring equinox would have to be the year starting point.

Try Yah’s Calendar of lights, It is Simple.

Year - referenced by the sun’s Spring (equinox)

Days – marked by the sun - sunset

Months by the moon light cycles

Together the sun and moon mark off the years, months, and days, enabling each day to be numbered giving us signs or ways of knowing it is that it is a proper time to meet for business or praise Yah on his special moedim/appointments.

Must All Start Together - Remember the first second of the day, and the first second of the month and the first second of the year, must be same second of time. They must all start together!!! And since with Yah’s Calendar you can never back up (See appendix 1)

|------------------------------Year
|-----------Month 1

|-Day 1

Here is the skinny of Yahuah’s calendar:

(1) Start the year after the spring equinox.
(2) Start the month after the new moon.
(3) Start the day after/at sunset.

So just:

(1) Watch for the spring equinox
(2) Look for the next New Moon
(3) Then wait for sunset

There you have it, the start of the year.

With Yah’s Calendar you can never back up (See appendix 1)

Equinox à Next New Moon à Then the Next Sunset = The Start of Yah’s Beautiful New Year!

Very simple, huh! And it is all about the LIGHTS.......

Yahuah’s Calendar of lights.

Note! all the technical stuff to backup the above article is in the Appendixes, so be sure and read and study them thoroughly.

Appendix 1: New moon before or after the equinox?

You can never back up with Yah’s calendar of lights. Under the Gen 1 calendar of the lights command, you could never back up, for commanded events such as selecting the flockling on the tenth day would have passed by the time you knew which is the closest new moon to the equinox. As it would be, in a worst case scenarios, those that would involve extremely small differences of time such as minutes, as this would lead to confusion and Yah is not the author of confusion.

If you counted 14 days and then the equinox occurred, you would know that the previous moon was the correct one. The problem being that the day to select the lamb is already passed so you would be unable to keep Yah’s commandment concerning it! Also you would have to keep the Passover that very night.

Moon/Month length is Changing all the time! Oh yes, you could calculate the time of the two new moons but only crudely in ancient times. When calculating and it would come down to very small increments of time, it would appear to the ancients that the moons, the one before and after the spring equinox, would be equally spaced on each side of it. Anything less than a day would pose and insurmountable obstacle. Thus “because of the perturbations of the orbits of the Earth and Moon, the actual time between lunations may range from about 29.27 to about 29.83 days. The long-term average duration is 29.530 days (29 d 12 h 44 min 2.8 s), or about 29 ½ days” (From Wikipedia). REMEMBER, this is just the average, the actual time is changing all the time. This fact alone would have made calculation of the nearest new moon to the equinox in ancient times an impossibility in cases of extremely small differences of time between these two moons.

Thus the ancients would have been lost without our modern instrumentation. So Yah’s calendar would always have had to be, the new moon after the spring equinox. It would have had to be a logical progression, from the major to minor periods of time keeping, for simplicity and to avoid the confusion of extremely small differences of time in calculations.

Appendix 2: Motions of the sun

Our year is basically one circuit of the sun by the earth.

The sun marks of 4 distinct points of time in a year, the summer and winter solstices and spring and fall solstices. These are not pagan in origin as they were programmed in by the Creator.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Solstices occur when the Sun is at its maximum northern and southern declination. Derives from the Latin "sol sistit" = "sun stands".

Solstices occur twice a year in June and December:

In the first half of summer the sun is more northerly in the sky each day till it finally stops and is more southerly the next day. this point is called the Summer Solstice: Maximum northern declination of the Sun.

In the first half of winter the sun is moving more southerly in the sky each day till it finally stops and is more northerly the next day. This point is called the Winter Solstice: Maximum southern declination of the Sun.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Equinoxes occur when the Sun crosses the Celestial Equator. Derives from the latin "equinoctis" = "equal night".

Equinoxes occurs twice a year, during March and September.

In the spring, the sun rises exactly in the east and sets exactly in the west on one particular day, regardless of your latitude. This point is called the Vernal Equinox: Sun crosses the Celestial Equator moving North.

In the fall, the sun rises exactly in the east and sets exactly in the west on one particular day, regardless of the observers latitude. This point is called the Autumnal Equinox: Sun crosses the Celestial Equator moving South.

Remember it was Yah that set the motions of the sun in place, so the equinoxes are not of occult origins in and of themselves, but actually are stations for time keeping created by the King of heaven.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun also rises and sets, creating a sunset marker for each of the calendar twenty four hour days, which are the moedim.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun also “divides the day from the night” giving us light to work by and night for sleep and rest, oh isn’t Yah wonderful.

Appendix 3: Abib defined

If you realize that Abib is newly ripened grain ready for harvest and not the half green grain that the Jews have painted it up to be, then you will realize that there is no way you would be starting the year in the winter.

Ezekiel 3:15 Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days. (KJV)

08512 Tel 'Abiyb {tale aw-beeb'} from 08510 and 024;; n pr loc AV - Telabib 1; 1

Tel-abib = "mound of the flood" 1) a city in Babylon, the home of the prophet Ezekiel, located on the river Chebar which was probably a branch of the Euphrates

Tel-abib = "mound of the flood" is given without any authority, it may have been the name given to it in later history but it is in no way a proper translation the word “TelAbib”. Even the definition give in Strong’s proves that, for it says it is from Strong’s Hebrew Lexicon word Numbers 08510 & 024.

08510 tel {tale} 1) mound, heap… 024 'abiyb {aw-beeb'} 1) fresh, young barley ears, barley

So TelAbib = “mound of barley” probably was a city that dealt in grain i. e. a granary. Any farmer knows that grain has to be ripe and the moisture level below 14% to be able to mound it or store it without rapid decomposition. The tender green ears thing, in my opinion, is a fraud in order to support the rabbinical religious agenda about the start of the year.

Regardless of Barley, you are commanded to keep Passover on the first month fourteenth day as determined by Yahuah’s calendar of lights given in Gen 1 by the great unchangeable one, Yahuah.

The good news is - If you start the year with the lights, there will always be barley not only in the land of Israel, but also in the Jerusalem area! This assuming that you have the correct interpretation of Abib.

Appendix 4: Where is the Barley?

Where’s the Barley? For over 2500 years of mankind’s keeping Yahuah’s calendar, the barley is never mentioned as part of it, in the set-apart Scriptures! Not only that, but the barley doctrine seems to fly in the face of Genesis chapter one and Yahuah’s unchangeableness.

Actually there is no command to start the year with the barley, if you think so, book, chapter and verse please?

There is only the command to celebrate!, keep!, do! or guard! The new moon of the abib (grain). I placed the exclamation points after each to emphasize that the Hebrew word here is in the command form. Deu 16:1 “Observe! the new moon of the abib…” is a command to have an observance of the first of two directly commanded new moon observances, that of the first month and the seventh month.

Do you do this? Do you have a New Moon observance for the start of the Yah’s Year, I do and have had it for over twenty years. We have a Rosh HaShana celebration in honor of Yah, his new year and his first moon. It is a command you know to observe, to keep, to do the new moon of the new year!

I will look forward to having you join me, in worship by observance of the new moon starting Yah’s year.

Appendix 5: What if the barley fails….

In the case of a nuclear or Volcanic winter (no summer) and there was no barley –

Would you start a new year?

Would you keep Passover ?

The point of this is - that with Yahuah’s calendar, this would not be a problem, as the moon and sun would continue in their circuits of movements continuing to provide a calendar for mankind. The lights are outside of mankind’s ability to manipulate or influence, and barley is not!

Barley may be genetically altered by man. Barley can be affected by the presence of chemicals or treatment with hormones or other devices of man. And then there is the selective cross pollinating, and the hybrids.

The ground and conditions of growing can be altered by heat absorption alteration of soil content and the manipulation of the lighting, There is no telling what man can come up with to mess with the barley.

Genesis 11:6 Yahuah said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. (NIV+)

They have now conquered the language barrier by their computer translation programs and cheap abundant solid state electronic translator devices – they are as one people speaking one language again! Now is there nothing they can imagine that will be impossible for them? Is the barley safe from them? I think not.

The astounding thing is there is no command to start the year with the Barley! The only command is to observe/keep/do the new moon of the month of the grain harvest time, the aviv/abib.
